Francomanias – Gueules de Scène
For 5 years, I’ve been setting up my mobile studio in the backstage of the Francomanias festival.
The goal hasn’t changed: capture artists just before or just after they step on stage. In the urgency of the backstage, without promotional artifice — just what’s there: the light, the face, the presence. A few minutes at most to build a portrait that holds.
From Pomme to Sofiane Pamart, from L’Entourloop to Scylla, each session is a short and intense collaboration. The light is sculpted for what the face has to say that night — not for what the press agent would want you to see.
What interests me in this project is precisely this narrow window, this moment when the artist is still in their bubble, before or after the show. That is where something real happens.
