The project was born from a dual intention: to showcase the makeup artist’s work in a demanding lighting environment and to create images that stand on their own beyond traditional beauty photography. The light is hard, directional, and sculpting. It carves out volumes and turns the makeup into a visual structure rather than just an accessory.

Color plays with shadow rather than resisting it. Saturated reds respond to deep blacks, and transitions become almost graphic. The tight framing amplifies the presence. The face takes up the entire space, which is exactly what this type of collaboration requires.
